Four in a Row rules, scoring and strategy

Four in a Row is a compact strategy match against the PixelPop computer. Pieces fall to the lowest open position in the chosen column, so every move changes several future possibilities. Win by forming four connected pieces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally before the computer does.

Rules and objective

Choose a column to drop your piece.
Pieces stack from the bottom upward and cannot be moved later.
Four connected pieces in any straight direction wins the round.
The computer moves after every valid player move unless the player has already won.

How scoring works

A legal move earns points, while completing four adds the large victory bonus. The scoreboard therefore recognizes both continued play and actually defeating the CPU.

Strategy tips

Control the center columns because they participate in more possible lines.
Before attacking, check whether the computer can win on its next move.
Build threats that can be completed in two different columns; the computer can block only one.
