How Mechyard Meltdown turns block clearing into combat

Block Blitz: Mechyard Meltdown is a PixelPop combat puzzle starring Titan-01, a salvaged scrapyard mech. Every part placed in the nine-by-nine fabrication grid raises the reactor’s heat. Completed rows, columns and three-by-three systems convert those parts into cannon fire against the enemy machine fighting above the board.

Combat rules

Tap or drag one of the three available mechanical parts into a legal grid position.
Complete rows, columns or three-by-three systems to fire Titan-01’s weapons.
Enemy attack counters fall after every placement. When one reaches zero, the opponent damages the barricade and jams open grid cells with hostile scrap.
Defeat the opposing mech before the barricade reaches zero or the fabrication grid runs out of legal placements.

Heat and damage

Large parts build the reactor’s heat quickly, while completed systems cool it. Reaching maximum heat triggers a meltdown that jams additional cells. Multiple clears in one placement create stronger attacks, a larger score bonus and more room for the next fabrication cycle.

Strikers attack frequently, Crusher Units add heavier scrap damage, and every fifth combat wave introduces the Furnace Beast boss.

Field modifications

Destroyed machines leave behind one permanent upgrade choice for the current run. Twin Cannons increase clear damage, Coolant Loop removes more heat, Field Welder repairs the barricade between fights, and emergency salvage options can clear blocked cells or stabilize the reactor.

Strategy for longer runs

Check the enemy’s remaining move counter before placing a piece that does not clear anything.
Preserve room for the largest available part instead of filling the center with disconnected cells.
Build intersecting rows and columns so one placement fires multiple weapon systems and removes more heat.
Do not wait until the reactor is almost full to begin building a clear; hostile scrap can close the space you were saving.

Controls and phone support

On desktop, click a part tray and click the grid, or drag the part directly into position. On a phone, drag from a tray to the fabrication grid or tap a tray followed by a grid location. The battlefield, board and controls scale together without requiring a keyboard.
